Tatarstan and Dagestan win tug of war tournament at the 2016 Rural Games
The tug of war competition was held as part of the 11th All-Russian Summer Rural Sports Games
In the up to 720 kg weight category, the team of the Republic of Tatarstan celebrated victory, athletes from the Chuvash Republic took silver, and representatives of Chelyabinsk Region rounded out the top three.
In the over 720 kg weight category, the best were the Dagestani tug of war athletes, silver medals went to the participants from Penza Region, and the team of the Republic of Mordovia took third place.
Alexander Kuznetsov, President of the Russian Tug of War Federation, took part in presenting the awards to the winners and medalists of the tournament. The RTWF provided special prizes in the form of certificates for the free transfer of ropes and training discs to regional tug of war federations and branches. The newly founded Saratov federation received its rope from the RTWF President directly at the award ceremony.
