Maslenitsa tug of war competitions held with RTWF support

From February 20 to 26, 2017, Maslenitsa was celebrated on a grand scale at VDNKh in Moscow

From February 20 to 26, 2017, Maslenitsa was celebrated on a grand scale at VDNKh in Moscow. Throughout the week, everyone could take part in various master classes and sports contests, listen to lectures, try traditional Russian dishes and, of course, have some bliny!
Tug of war competitions, held with the support of the Russian Tug of War Federation, were a success. The sport has become especially popular with the public and traditionally attracts a large number of competing teams and a wide audience of spectators. The main bout pitted the EMERCOM team (with representatives of Abkhazia, South Ossetia and the Russian Federation) against guests of the festival. Experience, of course, prevailed over enthusiasm, but the people's team promised to prepare and take on the rescuers again next year!
