Russian national team wins two bronze medals at its debut World Championships

The World Indoor Tug of War Championships were held in Letterkenny (Ireland) from February 19 to 23.

For the first time in history, the Russian national team represented the country at the World Championships. Under coach Sergei Rachinsky, the Russians won two bronze medals in the under-23 (U23) age category.

The mixed team (Filipp Guskov, Sergei Babichev, Andrei Skoromnov, Ivan Terekhov, Anisiya Dubinets, Irina Lesnikova, Yelizaveta Kochneva, Olga Svistunova, Anastasia Chitalina) finished third in the 560 kg weight category, and the women's team (Yulia Zakharova, Alina Smirnova, Yelizaveta Kochneva, Anisiya Dubinets, Olga Svistunova, Anastasia Chitalina, Irina Lesnikova, Anna Novikova) rounded out the top three in the 500 kg category.
