Today, June 23, 2007, the Russian Tug of War Federation (RTWF) took part in two major sporting events held in the capital. RTWF Secretary General Boris Grishin commented on the competitions for the Sportcom news agency.

"Today, as part of the International Olympic Day Run on Olimpiysky Prospekt in Moscow, the RTWF took part in organizing the 16th Journalists' Sports Games. It also organized children's tug of war competitions. I must say that the competitions were held in a good, friendly atmosphere, with a large number of participants.

The federation itself provided cups, diplomas and valuable prizes for all the winners and medalists," Sportcom's interviewee said. "The second event the RTWF took part in today was the extreme sports festival 'Zemlya-Vozdukh' ('Earth-Air') held under the patronage of the Moscow Government.

Just as on Olimpiysky Prospekt, there were a great many people at the tug of war area wanting to take part in the competitions for the federation's prizes. The atmosphere of the competitions was excellent, with lots of children. RTWF President Alexander Kuznetsov took part in the award ceremonies both at the Olympic Day Run and at the 'Zemlya-Vozdukh' festival."
