2008 World Indoor Tug of War Championships
The 2008 World Indoor Tug of War Championships will be held on February 20–25 in Faenza, Italy.
Faenza is a town of Roman origin in northeastern Italy, in the region of Emilia-Romagna. The town is surrounded by the Apennine hills and the Adriatic coast and neighbors such beautiful cities as Ravenna, Rimini and the Republic of San Marino.
Faenza is a very dynamic town that has had the honor of hosting many major sporting events and is already prepared to host the tug of war competition.
But the town is famous not only for its strong sporting culture; it is also known for its beauty and history. Faenza is a splendid city of art dating back to the Renaissance. It produces finely crafted pottery that is exported throughout Europe.
Faenza is home to one of the most beautiful and most complete art collections: the International Museum of Ceramics. The town is also known for its thermal baths at Riolo Terme, a few kilometers away.
