All-Russian seminar

In view of numerous inquiries to the Russian Tug of War Federation (RTWF) concerning training and participation in competitions, on May 23–24, 2009, the RTWF and the St. Petersburg Tug of War Federation, together with representatives of the Lithuanian Tug of War Federation, are holding a training seminar for everyone interested in the development of tug of war.
The seminar will give the necessary minimum level of knowledge to participants planning to start active work in teaching, training and holding tug of war competitions among various groups of the population, including preparing teams for international sports competitions. At the end of the seminar, all participants will receive personal certificates of completion of the training course.
We invite you to take part in the seminar and, if possible, to bring a team of 8 people (720 kg weight category) to take part in the All-Russian tournament for the RTWF prizes.
Seminar program:
May 22 – arrival, accommodation and registration of participants, after 14:00.
May 23 – opening of the seminar:
10:00-14:00 (theory)
-history of the development of tug of war;
-current trends in the development of tug of war in the international sports movement;
- introduction to the rules;
-screening of a DVD film on tug of war produced by the Tug of War International Federation;
- presentations by specialists on the experience of developing tug of war in the regions of Russia and in organizations;
14:00-15:00 – lunch break
15:00-19:00 practical sessions
May 24 -
09:00-15:00 - All-Russian tug of war tournament for the RTWF prizes
16:00-19:00 summing up, departure of participants (the room can be extended until May 25 of this year if desired)
Terms and cost of participation in the seminar:
Travel to and from the seminar venue is paid by the sending organizations.
The registration fee is 300 rubles per participant.
This includes:
1. a seminar participant certificate;
2. official documents;
3. registration of official membership in the Russian Tug of War Federation;
Available for additional purchase:
- the brochure "Rules for Tug of War Competitions";
- a training film of the Tug of War International Federation;
Participants from out of town are provided with accommodation and meals at 550 rubles per day (one place in a triple room with three meals a day).
Payment by bank transfer for participation in the seminar must be made by May 21 of this year.
