Tug of war tournament held at the VsmyslE regional forum for thinking young people

The tournament was organized by the Russian Tug of War Federation and the St. Petersburg Tug of War Federation

From July 8 to 12, 2015, the VsmyslE (In a Sense) Regional Forum for Thinking Young People was held in the settlement of Streltsovo, Leningrad Region, bringing together more than 700 people. On July 11, the Forum was visited by St. Petersburg Governor G.S. Poltavchenko.

As part of the Forum, a tug of war tournament was held in the up to 720 kg weight category. The contest was organized by the Russian Tug of War Federation (president A.A. Kuznetsov) and the St. Petersburg Tug of War Federation (Federatsiya peretyagivaniya kanata Sankt-Peterburga; president V.I. Gerasimov). Before the competition, V.I. Gerasimov gave a master class. Nine teams took part, formed from Forum participants by track (4 men + 4 women).

After a hard-fought contest, the tournament was won by the Nastavniki (Mentors) team: Eldar Ismailov, Dmitry Poluboyarinov, Vladislav Frantov, Pavel Yanchenko, Anastasia Panova, Natalya Nikulicheva, Tatyana Gosheva and Tatyana Spiridonova.
Second place went to the B-2 team (Nikita Nevidimov, Vitaly Kabysh, Alexander Kuvshinov, Dmitry Letoin, Alyona Petrova, Tatyana
Karayeva, Dalya Kotova and Natalya Butkina).
The Russkaya Sila (Russian Strength) team completed the top three: Vladimir Vasilyev, Vitaly Popov, Roman Anusevich, Maxim Zyryanov, Viktoria Bachurina, Lyudmila Bobkova, Anna Yevsenkova and Viktoria Parkhomchuk.
After the competition, the winners and medalists were awarded certificates and prizes from the Russian Tug of War Federation.
