Swedish athletes gilded their ropes on the last day of the European Championships in pulling this rough object, which ended in the small town of Cento (Italy).
Most interestingly, it was not only the red-bearded descendants of the Vikings who took an active part, leaning on the object of the pull with a combined weight of 720 kg, but also their fair-haired sisters, who, however, turned out to be two centners lighter. In another category, 640 kg, the burly Swiss men pulled best of all, their rope proving stronger than the Irish one in the final.
The Russian "rope pullers" did not finish high at this tournament. The first attempt was a flop: the Russians finished far from the podium. However, the competition proved very useful for them. All the more so since an agreement was reached on a master class that Italian experts will hold specially for our national team. So everything still lies ahead of them.
